An excerpt from Pauls letter to Timothy
2 Timothy 1:13-14
13What you heard from me, keep as the pattern of sound teaching, with faith and love in Christ Jesus. 14Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you—guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us.

I will miss Charlie for all that he brought into my life. I've never learned so much from someone I'd never met. You couldn't talk to Charlie and not feel like a disciple, I felt very much to be his Timothy. So very much to learn. I felt like a kid in school reading the things he wrote, with the exception that I wanted to be there.
I need to stand on what he has taught me and move forward, watching for the next person(s) that the Lord moves across my path to teach me.
He hasn't so much died, as he has passed. He has passed through the pain, suffering, and not being able to breathe, and is now standing with Jesus. The pain has left him in the blink of an eye, he is finally able to sing the Hymn's to Jesus as he often talked about.
My heart is broken for the loss his family must certainly feel. I pray with all I've got for peace and comfort for Sherry and the kids. I pray that the Great Healer will heal them and bring them joy as they hear Charlie singing praises in their hearts and minds. Singing praises for them all, praises for us all...

Lord I pray that You will heal the hole left in our hearts. Father, I pray that You bring comfort and peace as only You can do to Sherry, the kids, the grandkids, Tim and Karen, and all of us. Lord we sing praise to You for bringing Charlie into our lives and allowing us the privilege of being touch by him. We know he's with You now Lord, thank You for taking his pain away, he has finally through You won the battle against the cancer.
I pray this in the name of Your Wonderful Son Jesus.
Amen

As always,
Please know, I'm praying for all who read this...

This is really touching. I agree that you felt like a kid reading or listening to what he had to say. Very nice tribute.

Thanks Greg. Thanks for sharing. I certainly understand what you mean by feeling like a disciple. He taught so much without ever trying to teach, but by just living, and being, and loving and sharing.
