I can hardly believe that a year ago, the strike was just starting. I was pondering the effect it had on my life and decided I needed to write it out.
One year ago I was in debt, had no money, and was late on pretty much all of my bills. It's funny, when the strike happened I was in disbelief. We found ourselves getting food from the food bank we volunteer at. I was making $150 a week strike pay, after the 4th week had passed, nothing until then!

When I write prayers for people who request prayer in the forum, my goal is to pray
right now . If I'm going to pray now, why not write it out? It's like being in a prayer circle and someone prays for you. There's something comforting about
knowing that people are praying for you. I feel one of the best things you can do for someone (besides praying) is to show that you're praying for them. You care enough to take their problem to our Father.

So Wednesday was my day to deliver bread to the food bank. My neighbor Barbara and I met at 9 in the morning to go get it. We went to go around to the back side of Safeway and it was all ice, almost no snow, just ice. It was snowing and slushy behind the store and you couldn't park at all close. We went and got our first baskets and found that the carts wouldn't roll on the icy stuff and you pretty much had to carry everything to the van. Lori and I went shopping today and she had some Christmas shopping to do, so she said she'd be out soon. I sat in the van rather annoyed that I didn't have my zune, I couldn't find anything good on the radio, I didn't have a book, my bible study was at home... After awhile I could feel God asking why I couldn't spend my time talking to Him? Why did I need something to occupy myself.

So I was listening to a little holiday cheer yesterday... Twisted Sister "A Twisted Christmas: Live". I was listening to the song I wanna rock. He does a intro to the song talking about when he was a kid and all he use to get was socks for Christmas. His mom took him to see Santa, when he was 8. He said "That was it!
